Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a psychological theory that outlines five levels of human needs that act as motivation for behavior: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization.

These needs are arranged in a pyramid, with the most basic physiological needs at the bottom and self-actualization at the top, suggesting that an individual must satisfy a lower-level need before moving on to a higher one
